Cask @ St. Aldates. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, malt, fruits, flowers and hops fruity finish.

12oz can pours a crystal clear amber with some sticky white head. Nose has some grain, black tea, yeast, dough, dried leaves. Flavor has fall fruits, malts, grains, a little weird smokey/lox thing. Finishes dry. Very drinkable at less than 4%.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. A attractive tawny colour with a loose cream head; aroma of toasted grains with some sour purple fruit in the background; earthy caramel taste with a slight spiceness; and a nutty carmael finish. A very pleasant mild.

12oz can pours a dark orange with some sticky, white head. Nose is Ok, some orange, pine, soap, soggy malt, black tea. Flavor has more tannic tea, lemon, orange, cracker, pine. Finishes bitter, a touch tannic. Doesn't fit the bill for a US session beer, but this very much rang as a British session IPA in that is had more bitterness than an actual bitter.

Bottle at home from Laithwaite. Another golden ale and probably the worst that I have had from this brewery. There was quite a strong flavour of corn to the beer and this was finished quickly. Their other beers were brilliant, but this wasn't.

Cask (gravity) @ [ EBF21 2015 ], 21th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE. [ As Loose Cannon American Pale Ale ].Clear medium to dark amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, marmalate hops, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, marmalade hops, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150807] 5-3-5-3-11

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry and has very modest carbonation. Dry malts, not that sweet and a touch grainy. Mild dry floralness. Modest orange and orange peel. Dry finish brings mild bitterness. Grainy and dull but not horrible.

Hazy blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour have intense fruity hop. Lots of passion fruit and bitter grapefruit.

Bottle at home from Laithwaite. A lovely pale, almost straw, colour in the tankard with minimal head. There was some aroma of malt and biscuit, but not much. The temperature was perfect and it meant that the taste was stupendous. Toasty malt, biscuit, a bit of soil and farmyard and some good bittering hops. There was also subtlety to this beer that showcased the ingredients. The strong malt made for a smooth mouthfeel. Oh, this was a lovely pint. One of those beers that you know you could just go on drinking and drinking throughout the evening and never get bored. This is a remarkable example of how good an English bitter can be.
