Pours inky black, with almost no head. Aroma is dominated by coffee and roast dark malt. Taste- smooth roasty coffee, bitter dark chocolate, espresso, burnt toast hint of vanilla, burnt malty finish. A bit ’charred’, but not bad.

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Bro-Pye, 16/08/16. Black with a decent tan swirl. Nose is big coffee grinds, toffee, charr, spice, fruit cake. Taste comprises sweet malt, coffee cake, spice, dark fruit rinds, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a good coffee profile and a sweet linger. Solid sweet stout.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours deep brown with a froth, tan head. The nose holds rich coffee, light burnt rubber, earth. Light sweet flavour with bitter coffee, scorched earth, baking cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with scorched earth, more baking cocoa, espresso, burnt rubber. Decent stuff overall.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy white head. The nose has peach, melon, tangerine. Medium sweet flavour, juicy, with light tang, some pine, passion fruit. Light bodied with average carbonation. Tasty finish, with more tangy passion fruit, lemon rind. Good one.

Taste comprises melon, tangerine, orange pith, grapefruit, straw, light bread, P-Fructus. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Ok for style but no world beater @APA !
