Bottle thanks to Benji. It pours jet black pours a decent beige head. The nose is toasty, roasted malt, smoke, medicinal, soapy citrus, black tea and cocoa. The taste is bitter, roasty, earthy, mild smoke, toast, medicinal, charred wood, coffee, grapefruit and soap with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting and well executed.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours darkest brown with a medium light tan head. The nose is rich roast, cocoa, cola, toasty, earth and some sherbety citrus. The taste is bitter, harsh roast, earth, ashy, tar, charred wood, chewy malt and alcohol warmth with a lingering bitter finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Taste is a bit rough around the edges, but not without its charms.

Bottle split at Mother Arch during RBESG ’14, day 2, thanks to Paulo 08/08/14. Lightly hazed pale yellow with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is tarte fruit, citric peel, light smoke, piss, hint of mango, bottom of the tin pineapple chunks that have lingered in the fridge a little too long. Taste comnprises tangy peach, spice, good acidic kick, sour and tartened citrics, medium green pepper effect. Lightish body, fine carbonation, chilli heat and light acidic burn in the close. Ok but the spice doesn’t work for the style, I didn’t get the refreshment that I craved

Bottle shared. Hazy orange color, full sized soapy white head. Smell and taste rotting fruits, overripe fruits, sourness, fruit peel, yeasty, not a barley wine at all.
