Tap at Friends of Ham, Leeds. Very nearly black. Thin, off white head. Treacle. Caramel. Thick vanilla. Burnt rubber. Big, chewy palate. Taste is thick, sweet treacle. Bitterness comes at the end and stays an age. Mesters beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 25/1/2014. Listed on the pump clip as a collaboration with Thirst Class Ales, whose website states it is currently a homebrewing operation. Deep gold with a slight white head. Massive, grassy, herbal hops, a touch of tropical fruit and huge, bitter finish. Too much for me.

Gravity at Manchester Beer Festival From Notes. Nose vanilla, cherry, cream, slight coco. The taste followed with a lot of smoke not alluded to by the nose. Mouthfeel was good. A highlight of the festival Bottle: 12/03/14 Nose is more muted, the woodtones more pronounced. Taste is beautifully smoked, subtler and sweeter than most smoked beer I have tried which often go for weight. The smoke does not leave much space for anything else that came out in the draft beer, maybe a little vanilla and lots of wood.

Assuming this is the small beer from Mcr Beer festival. Nose was much better than expected, tropical fruits, papaya, citrus. Taste is much follows but is thin with a dry finish. It’s very engaging for a low alcohol beer, but ultimately is a curios, when would one drink it?

Keg at CASC, Aberdeen. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, spice, smoke, frazzled, hay, barnyard and cream cheese. The taste is crisp, tart, spice, earthy, brett?, light smokiness, hay, black tea, lactic, sherbet, some astringency, orange, gooseberry and grapefruit with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good depth. Interesting, bold and flavoursome.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Hazy amber pour, big off-white head. Aromas has spice, lemon and light smoke. Off-puttingly fizzy though, makes it hard to get past the prickle of carbonation to the flavours beneath. Definitely tea and light spicy yeast. Far too fizzy.

Keg at the hanging bat... Light hazy amber... Thin off white head... Sweet fruits... Light smokey nose... Little cold.. Little fizzy... Big zezty almost tart fruit front... Lightest tea tones... And definitely smoke but very low key.. Its quite a cocofony how ever you spell that of flavours.. Light funk in finish... Interesting but the fizz is destroying it for me
