Cask at the Southampton on 25th January 2010. Black with a disappearing head. Abundant malt and caramel in the background with fruity notes on the tongue. These were slightly sour apple/raspberry fruit with hints of barleysugar/boiled sweet. An increasingly dry finish, and texture on the flat side.

23rd September 2008. Felstar are one of my local breweries and I always buy their beers but they continue to frustrate in their inconsistency. They can put out nice beer but I can’t believe this one got past quality control. Hazy brown ale. A little tepid hop and a little dry malt. Completely flat and pretty grim!

10th September 2008. Bottle. Very strange beer! Hazy brown - flat as a pancake. A light lemony lambic acidity that sits in an otherwise flat English bitter. The finish is slightly fruity. A good try but surely a failed experiment?
