Bottle from Keen’s cracking bottle bar at Pigs Ear. Very dark brown beer, no head. Zero carbonation. Smooth palate. Bananas and cream, dark chocolate and a trace of marmite. Fruit salad sweets. Finishes semi dry. Tasty unusual beer but must be related to ’Silent Knight’ in some way?

Bottle purchased from the brewer at a local food fair. Hazy amber beer, little white head. Crisp palate, very dry with a carbonated snap. Minerally hop bitterness, a little metallic. Mild citrus. Just a brief showing of creamy malt. Finishes dry. Refreshing. Clean cut. Just a bit dry.

Cask handpull from volunteer arms at GBBF 2010. Black, lasting tan head. It’s got some terrific lasting bitter dark choc, Bournville choc with some Turkish Delight fruit. It’s lovely.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with faint film. Wheat, German yeast aroma. Some hard bread. Lightly sweet, yeasty, some banana, orange and clove. Light bodied with very soft carbonation. Bready, yeasty finish, with some very light citrusy bitters. Like no bitter I’ve ever had. Interesting.
