Bottle - Big peaty whisky notes, some grain and oak. Cloudy amber with a rich brown head. So much peat and smoke from the whisky with a malty finish. If you are an Islay fan this is right up your alley if not this is not for you. Thankfully I am an huge peaty scotch guy and this nice step away from the mundane by Alley Kat is a refreshing.

Draft - Huge grapefruit on the nose, just like cutting one open and holding to your nose. Clear pale yellow with a thin head. Taste is very bland, not nearly enough flavor that is advertised with the nose. Light citrus fruit and very light. I can understand why the masses like this so much, easy drinking and doesn’t taste like beer. I would rather drink grapefruit juice.

Bottle - Yeast and raspberries on the nose. Bubble an highly carbonated clear orange with a white fizzy head. Sweet and tart with heavy carbonation. Not enough flavor or for that matter anything, almost like a very fizzy cheap wine.

Bottle - What do you know, I smell orange. Is that coincidence or subliminal messaging from the title. Grassy, flowery and orange. Clear copper and a nice thick head. Orange carries through, with some grapefruit and bitterness. A pedestrian IIPA.

Bottle - Resin and orange with nothing really standing out. Light copper and clear with a minimal head. Resin and a mellow bitterness. A bit of alcohol heat at the finish. Very average.

Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Lots of tropical fruits. Nice long lasting head and a clear orange hue. Taste is just like the nose, lots of tropical fruits with a bitterness that lingers throughout. Of all the IIPA’s offered in the Dragon series, this one stands up the best as far as flavor.

Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Grassy hop notes with a bit of malty sweetness. An orange sweetness an unbalanced bitterness. More of the same, just not very good with a little age.
