Bottle at Kawa, Calgary. It pours jet black, with a gigantic light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, light smoke, coffee grounds and cocoa powder. The taste is roasted malt, rich coffee, light charcoal, dark fruit and berry, light acidity and some salted liquorice, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Robust, flavoursome and well balanced. Very drinkable.

Bottle from Kensington Wine Market, Calgary. It pours clear orange-amber, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweaty sock, orange, grapefruit, hint of earth, caramel sweetness and a hint of bubblegum. The taste is zesty citrus, grapefruit, waxy lemon rind, orange peel, pine, toasted malt, metal, earth notes and dirt, with a long, very bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Not bad.

Draft - Slightly sweet like candy floss, very mellow hop character. Clear gold with a fizzy head. You can taste the hoppy sweetness, but you are immediately hit with a bitterness that lingers way too long. I remember this being better in the bottle and will re-rate when I try it again.

Draft - This is a very fresh keg and you can tell. Nice sweet apricots on the nose, much more like a juice. clear amber with a nice head that diminishes quickly. The sweetness is subdued on the flavor but still very much apricots. Not very much else in the way of flavor. A nice fruit beverage but not a great beer.

Draft - Bread, grain and a slight malt sweetness. Clear amber with nice medium head. Well balanced beer, starting with a bit of bitterness from the hops ending in the bready and grains. The malt is a little lost in the taste, but this is still a nice refreshing session beer.

Leather, traces of whiskey, bit of dried fruits, musty and some burnt sugar. Bananas are way tamer than in the aroma.

Dried apricot, pine and a hearty dose of caramel. A touch of earthiness. Smooth, flowery, earthy, woody. Not overly bitter, but nice malt backbone. Enjoyable an not Over the top. Not tons of bitterness.
