Dark brown color. Fairly light bodied. Chocolate, apples, caramel, cherries in the mouth. Nose is a bit more subdued. Subtly earthiness in there. More crystal malt than I expect in this style. Decent stuff.

bottle thanks to Kyle, pours light copper with a tall frothy light tan head. Aroma is nice cascade hops and toast. Flavor is nice and fresh tasting cascade hops on top of nice crisp clean nutty amber malts. Really a great session beer, for a good cause, what’s not to love?

2009 (11%) bottle via a trade with savvy1982. Pours with a mostly clear bronze colored body and a decently large khaki head. Very nice lace. Aroma from a mile away is strong toffee, vanilla and a bit of fruity (banana) esters. On closer inspection add toffee, brown sugar, molasses, maple, raisins, burnt flan, and tongue depressors to the mix. Flavors of alcohol, light metal, some orange, raisins, toffee, vanilla, butterscotch, caramel. There is a light acidity from the barleywine, not sure where that is from. Light graininess (cereal like). Very long duration. Rich on the second taste. Pretty taste. Bitter throughout. Medium carbonation, smooth and silky mouthfeel. Weighted. The more I drink the better it gets. Pretty well done!

Bottle. Black, brown head. Light metallic coffee roast, sour mash , a bit grappalike booze aroma. Strong coffee base, sweetened espresso, red wine, barrique notes. Leaves on a espresso corretto note. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Finish is elegant enough to not feel cloying. Kahlua aftertaste.

Bottle. Lactic, wood, some spicyness. Cloudy brown, some floaties. Lightish body, sparkly mouthfeel. Dry, light sour, a bit berry fruitiness. Hint of oak. Quick finish, a bit blah.

Bottle 34,1 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy amber with some floating impurities and an off-white head. The nose is very caramellish with some hoppiness. Quite a solid body, loads of caramel and licorice allsorts, some aroma hops in the finish leaving quite a bitter finish. 250810

Vanilla icecream topped with tons of chocolate. Sweet. Malty. Not apologitic on being so over the top sweet. However in a group of ten people on the beach this got a huge tumbs up. Really interesting.
