bottle thanks to Savvy1982, pours amber with a medium light tan head. Aroma is rye, lots of bready notes and clove. Silky smooth mouthfeel that gives way to sweet cherry flavors mixed with raisin and cinnamon. Good stuff.

New rating (Aug 2020): Time to retry the first barley wine I ever had. 2018 vintage bottle from Alley Kat, pours a dark mahogany with a small head. Nose is full of dried dark fruits, toffee, molasses and ample resinous hops. Flavour is balanced wonderfully between the dark caramel malt and resinous hops, with plenty of dried red fruit and molasses. Pretty much the same as a I remember it over a decade ago. Lovely barley wine. Old rating (Dec 2009): 341mL bottle, pours a dark reddish brown with a thin off-white head. Sweet nose of malt, fruit and hops. Flavour is complex - grapefruit, raisins, prune, and vanilla - maybe more? Low carbonation, full-bodied. Bitter finish. Excellent.

Bottle: Poured a deep bright color lager with a medium pure white bubbly head with average retention and no lacing and a big chunk of garlic at the bottom of the bottle. Aroma of garlic bread is totally dominant. Taste is also dominated by garlic which is kind of weird and unusual. Interesting experiment and not as gross as I would have thought but still not something I would drink often.

Light amber color. Light grapefruit nose. Light body, but grainy and not balanced. Light finish. Had after some real Saisons. This is nothing but bad imitation and moreover is not a saison. Not sure why they bothered.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma of spicy peppers is dominating. Taste is also dominated by some spicy pepper and is plainly undrinkable. Body is average with average carbonation, alcohol could be apparent but this is so spicy that I can’t taste anything else. I am not much of a fan of spicy meal so this didn’t do it for me.

Bottle: Poured a light black color porter with a small foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of cherry and sweet chocolate is quite enticing though originating form some syrup. Taste is also a well balance mix between some some cherry blossom with great notes of sweet milk chocolate. Body is a bit thin with low carbonation. I know it does taste somewhat fake but still very good nonetheless.
