Bottle bought at Waitrose, Northwood early last year. A black coloured pour with a small beige head on top. Malty, smokey aroma. Tastes malty, vanilla, some coffee, roasty. Really smooth and easy drinking. Probably the best beer that I’ve had from Bath.

Bottle 500ml. @ [ Tasting by Fin & Loz ].Clear medium amber orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, pale caramel - toffee. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft - fizzy. [20111021]

[Bottle, gift from Mum & Dad - cheers!] Anaemic gold with a thin, patchy white head. Rather fizzy and thin. Pungent lemon dominates with a little straw and a dry finish. Not bad, but needs to lose the annoying fizz which killed it for me.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with a foamy head. Chocolate, coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. Roasted, smooth and slightly fruity taste with notes of plain chocolate and coffee standing out. Not bad.

Appearance Very dark brown, ruby edges, frothy head which dissipates to thin layer.
Aroma Dark caramel malts, light coffee and milk chocolate, molasses, hint of toffee.
Taste Malty, some roasted malt, bit of coffee, molassess, toffee, hint of fruit, woody, slight spicy hops.
Palate Soft carb, thin to medium body, smooth. Finish is woody with some butnr crust, lingering light woody bitterness with layer of sweet dark toffee.
Overall Well made porter, quaffable at 5%, good flavour. Must try this cask

0.5 lt bottle from Berrmerchants.Orange/golden with a creamy off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with some grassy hop notes.Caramel malty taste, some grass hops and fruits. Dry finish. Aroma is more intense that the taste.

Deep brown colour. Aroma is intensely malty and fruity. Quite a thick, rich texture. Full malty flavour, a little bit roasted. Sweet caramel. Nice bitterness in the finish.
