Cask, handpump at The Crown, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Oxfordshire Sunday 2nd September 2012 Mid gold with decent clarity, in fact this looks v.good, there is also a goodly sized drop of foam atop. Taste is fruity with a pleasant bitterness. Enjoyed this summer quaffer and had a pint and a half of it. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle 500ml.Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, light butter. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Flaske 0,5l fra Kilpishalli. Drukket i Skibotn 7 Aug 12. Dyp rubinrød med et lysebrunt, høyt luftig skum som varer en stund. God kaffe/sjokoladearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er syrlig frukt. Helhetsinntrykket er forsiktig røstet malt.

Cask@Beerd, Bristol. Yellow colour with a minor head. Aroma is sweet and dry apples. Flavour is caramel, sweet apples, mild yeasty and some vanillaish notes. Refreshing, but nothing spectacular.

Bottled@chriso. Golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is ginger, caramelly and some mild wooden notes. Flavour is ginger, sweet malts and rather citrusy as well. Quite pleasant level of ginger.

Amber with a slight, off-white head and moderate carbonation. Sweet, caramel and stewed fruit aroma. Flavour was malty and sweet, with a hint of cardboard and some underlying ginger, which clashed rather than complemented. Verging on the unpleasant.

Aroma - soft hay malts, hint of spicy hops, not that hoppy - more hay malts, light cereals
Taste - pale sweet malts, soft citrus lemon hops, bit of zest, light grapefruit, some bitter English hops, soft cereals, hay. more hoppy in flavour than aroma
Palate - medium carb, medium body. Finish - dry, some zest, soft citrus, moderate bitter linger, bit of a mineraly metallic linger
Overall - Quite a refreshing golden ale, dryish finish, hops are rather subdued to me, some lemon zest in there. It’s certainly better than average for a golden ale. OK.
