Cask-conditioned at the Colston Yard, Bristol 4/08/2012. Straw coloured with a slight white head that left lace down the glass. Big aroma of gooseberries, grapefruit and mango with a touch of balancing sweetness. Flavour had more fruit, a hint of biscuit malts and a lingering, dry finish with a touch of pine. Excellent and very drinkable for the ABV [4.0]. Bottle conditioned version at 7% ABV - Pale gold with a slight hop haze and thin but tight white head and moderate carbonation. Gooseberry, pineapple and grapefruit aroma with a touch of pine sharpness. Full bodied mouth feel with white grapes upfront, followed by more, sweetish tropical fruit and some balancing tart gooseberries. Finish was dry and prickly. Very good [3.8].
