Description
Tiny Rebel was founded in Newport in 2012 by brothers-in-law Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams. Williams had learned to homebrew with his grandfather, and introduced his brother-in-law to the hobby. After brewing in Cumming's father's garage for a number of years, the pair decided to make their hobby their profession. They rented an industrial unit in the Maesglas area of the city.

The company opened their £2.6million brewery and bar in Rogerstone on 1 July 2017.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail

No. 3, BBE June 2013 - Pours murky dark brown with a bubbly white head. Aroma of fruity hops, smoked leather, ham and hints of spices. Taste is fruity and hoppy with a lot of leathery notes, hints of smoke and ash. Finish is bitter and smoked with some leather. Quite unique, a bit unbalanced.

Aroma is odd and stale with berries, oaky notes and ash and distant smoky notes. Flavour has berries, ashy notes, some resin and smoky notes. Quite unique stuff.

Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen. It pours clear golden yellow with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is pine, resin, orange citrus, tangy marmalade, leaf and spice. The taste is pine, assertive bitterness, varnish, resin, booze, tangerine, orange, marmalade, creaminess and spice with a long warming, bitter finish. A big, boozy bitter beast. A tasty brew indeed.

Aroma: Not much going on with the aroma - weak lemony aroma.

Appearance: Hazy golden amber body with a medium white head. Very light carbonation. Good lacing.

Taste: Dried apricot, citrus fruit and caramel malt. The flavours aren’t very powerful, but they’re nicely balanced. Dry, peppery finish.

Palate: Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.

Overall: Very easy to drink, but not particularly flavoursome.

Craft Clerkenwell. Pretty much a clear gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is a little soft and semi dry. Mild minerals. Slightly bitter tropical fruits, a little watery and oppressed. Mild tangerine and orange peel. Trace of mango. Flavour picks up a little before the semi dry finish. Decent but somewhat muted.
