Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a murky brackish glowing grapefruit fruit juice papery golden body that supports a near white head of foam. Man they serve ales here too cold. The aroma starts off rather muted due to the low temperature. I get soft smoke, some tart citrus, mild bready cracker and a dash of salt. The taste begins with a rush of citrus like lemon and grapefruit zest tartness rimmed perfectly by a contrasting soft smokiness and growing mild apple fruitiness. Around the edges lurk some salty notes. I can drink this all the time.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up smooth roasty coffee, malts, chocolate malts and a bit of spicy black licorice. The taste delivers big smooth roasted coffee notes, earthy coffee and chocolate maltiness. Toward the finish it picks up mild breadiness blended with a bit of spicy hops.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a nice deep dark body that supports a light colored mocha head. The aroma offers up fruity plum sweetness heading into increasing levels of chocolate and dark roasted malts where there’s a pleasing thin burnt malt note near the end of the draw. As it warmed dark roasted malts comes to the surface. God damn, they serve the ales too cold here (WTF!). While super cold the flavor really isn’t opening up but also doesn’t get into astringency. I get a muted chocolate flavor blending quickly soft malty sweet dark roastiness malts and then mild molasses sweetened prunes.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a nice murky brown to copper body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up molasses, brown sugar, sweet red grapes, some red wine and red wine tannin tartness and then a dash of woodiness. The taste begins with a brief smooth malty sweetness before a balanced blend of winter spices, spicy wood and graham cracker sweetened red wine rush in. Toward the finish mild grape fruitiness and brown sugar come to the surface to further aid in the depth and balance. Fun beer.
