12 oz bottle poured into motel styrofoam cup, classy. So lets say the color is brown, but it pours with a large, strong foamy beer. Aroma is a bit of a kicked up brown ale, wet bark maltiness, earthy hops, very woodsy, wet forest thing going for it. The taste is a bit more low key, lightly caramel wet wood. A light bodied, medium bittered. A thirst quencher with a slight kcik, revisit-able.

Cask pint at Redbones on 4/10/07
Small, light beige head is moderately retained. Medium to medium-high clarity on the body is nearly bright, with a copper-garnet/auburn color.
Wow, bourbon anyone?? Holy shit. This is so full of bourbon it almost smells smokey. Holy crap. Lots of dry, harsh wood, some molasses and tons of phenol-like spiciness. Tea-like astringency, vanilla and coconut. Yes, it seems like I’m describing a bourbon.
Flavor is just unapproachable. All bourbon. Intensely harsh, sour, smokey, and alcoholic. Only the barest hint of sweet caramel to give a touch of sweetness. Tons of chewy tannin. Come on, are you kidding? This is one of my favorite breweries, but this barrel was either WAY too fresh and not primed properly or they just left it in WAY, WAY, WAY too long.

Clear golden coloured body with a very thin and soapy white head. Aroma of cardboad, old malt, stale hops, soap, corn, oranges and a light dusting of coriander seed. Light-bodied; Decent stale hop flavour up front with a good malt backbone showing alcohol, caramel, a bit of nuts and even some herbal tastes. Aftertaste is mostly bittered from the hops, but also shows some malt and nutty tastes. Overall, not the worst APA i’ve had, but certainly not one of the better ones. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 27-March-2007.

Pours bright gold into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Malt and grain aromas and flavors. Mild bitter finish. Lager characteristics for an ale.

Pours amber/gold into a shaker. Offwhite head with nice retention and spider lacing. Light caramel and citrus aromas. Crisp and well-balanced with a slight pine hop finish.

A viscous black pour produces a large, creamy long-lingering, tight head of light brown. Classic appearance. The aroma has great depth with malt variety. Plenty of roast and caramel malt aromas here. The lightly bitter, yet rich and smooth brew is superbly balanced corner to corner. Excellent Stout.

A hazy golden IPA with a creamy thick white head. A good floral hops in aroma with light caramel notes. In mouth, an oxidized malt hits you right away, but the hoppy grapefruit keeps your interest, a very simple in your face IPA. Medium bodied.

A dirty hazy amber to brown IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet malt aroma with with citrus hops, and signs of oxidation. In mouth, a nutty malt with stroong grapfruits notes, veering on astringent and bilous, lingering in mouth, overpowering the malt... a bit too much for my taste. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle. Poured into small goblet glass. Pours with absolutely no head and a slight brown lacing. Opague black color, I mean motor oil with some brown spit in it. Aroma is present, medium stout sweetness, charred coffee. Nicely well attenuated body. None of that cloying sweetness, nice lighter bodied stout. Never would have guessed this was 7% alcohol. Goes down easy with a slight pinch of bitterness that quickly retreats into a slightly oatmeal and chocolate-y aftertaste.

Pours bright orange/red into a shaker. Fluffy tan micro head goes conglomerate as it leaves cobwebs of lacing. Bright pine aromas. Smooth and well balanced with grapefruit and resin hop flavors. Bitter lasting hop finish.
