Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours oily black with a dense, creamy beige head. Rich dark malt aroma, with hearty roast, cocoa, burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavour with low of bitter, ashy roast character, some gooey chocolate, dried cherries, earth. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with some woody dryness, toasted coconut, more hearty bittersweet dark chocolate, dried berries, moderate bitterness. Overall, a solid impy stout.

Keg tap at the Cambridge Brewhouse. Blonde and hazy, with a spot of white head. Light coconut oil in the aroma but less of the expected pineapple or indeed any other fruit. Slight toffee note. Taste is bittersweet, but there is an acrid vomity note near the finish which spoils the whole package for me. More bitterness in the aftertaste. Fairly clear ’no’ in my opinion.

Cock Tavern. Keg. Very hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent carbonation. Immediate coconut hit before the sweet malts take over and bring a light creamy sweetness. Light ripe pineapple. Yellow grapefruit and mild orange. A little spicy bitterness before a fairly dry finish. Bitterish linger. Good fun and a very rare chance to experience Toyomidori hops.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - London. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds pale grains, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with strong bitterness, grain husks, some minerals, a little chlorine almost. Light bodied with average carbonation. Astringent finish, some crispy hay, more husk, drying minerality. Not the best.
