Caramel biscuit nose, bitter, malty. Not sure about this one by itself. It’s well-made, but feels like maybe it was made to go with food.

27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours clear amber with a bubbly/frothy off-white head. Aroma of butter, caramel, grain, malt and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body. Floral, earthy, bitter finish. Not keen, too buttery.

27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours slightly hazy pale gold with a bubbly/frothy off-white head. Aroma of hops, fruit, flowers, touch of butter and veg. Moderate sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Light body, watery texture, average finish. Grainy finish. Bit better, less buttery.

Aroma of butter, caramel, malt, slight skunky edge. Light to moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness. Light body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Label said it was zesty but pretty much it was buttery.

27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours very dark ruby brown with a bubbly/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, nut and ash. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, average to soft carbonation. Roasted finish, ashy/charcoal developed more. Best of the 6 UY beers we had.

Bottle thanks to Grumbo: Poured a black with red edges, light beige head. Aroma is big roasty malts, sweet chocolate. Taste is nice chocolate, smooth, rich malts.
