[33cl can from Beer52.] A dark amber pour with a thin cream head; sweet malty aroma; smooth milky malt body with some chocolate; and a little red fruit to finish.

Keine Karbonisierung. Überraschend säuerlicher Antrunk, deutlich malzig, Kirschen. Weich, etwas Alkohol, unsüffig. Der Alkohol steigert sich noch, erhöhte Viskosität, mittellanger Abgang. Hm... 10/7/7/8//7

Malziger Beginn, röstig, schwacher Körper. Geringe Süße, zunehmend Kakao, würzig, cremig. Langer malziger Abgang, nett aber nicht mehr. 10/11/10/10//10

Süffiger, herb hopfiger Beginn. Süßlich-herber Mittelteil, spritzig, deutliche Bitterkeit. Süffig, würzig, langer hopfiger Nachgeschmack. Gut. 10/11/11/11//11

Pours a quite deep red, a bit darker than usual per style, moderate haziness. Low sized but quite compact and stable white head, moderate lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: mainly malty notes with quite strong caramel, nuttiness, a hint of toffee, light hints of jam-like citric fruitiness (tangerine most noticeable), a touch of earthy hoppiness. Not especially clean or well defined, malty sweetness takes the main stage. More nitid/clean in taste than the smell suggested. Taste notes as per aroma, malty sweetness now a bit less prominent, more nitid fruitiness, plus the slighest refreshing herbal hoppiness. Still quite sweet for the style with a sweet edge in the mouth and a balanced, semi dry finish. Body is medium to light, medium to light carbonation; both a bit more carbonated and a bit more dense in body than usual per style. Still pretty sessionable. Goodish, not impressed.

Keg at the tap in Bermondsey. Aroma is dank... toilet. Could be the tap. Opaque amber. Thick translucent white head soon recedes. Bitter- resinous and citrus. Underlying malts. A hint of caramel. Light-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Really boring stuff.

33cl can from Olga, thanks!! Pours dark brown, a little opaque, with no foam. Aroma is wood, earthy. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is moderately sweet, matched with a certain toasted feeling giving some bitterness. Final is now bitter, in the end.

At home alongside a Sunday lunch of slow braised beef. Good pour and a delicate flavour and mouthfeel with well balanced hops and malt. And it is cask conditioned. A tasty beer.
