Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 30/01/10. Dark brown with hints of red and a decent tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dried fruit and nuts. Flavour had more chocolate, with a rum edge and caramel that made me think of Thornton’s truffles, before some fruit cake and a decent bitter finish. Presumably related to Old Freddy Walker and very enjoyable.

Cask at the Turf, 2008. Deep amber / reddish color. Dry earthy aroma with a bit of caramel. Like a very hoppy amber ale. Well balanced with fruit. Rather sweet, with caramel, earth, hops. Very well done.

2010-08-21, bottle, 7.5% ABV, 6-4-6-3-12=31
Black color; small head. Chocolate brew, bit the light sourness that is usually associated to Old Ales; the aroma is mild; the flavor is just better; but tasted just after the Fusion it’s not as good.
2009-10-09, draught at Ørsted, Copenhagen, 7.3% ABV, 6-3-7-3-13=32
Black color. The body is weaker than the alcohol may suggest. There is some caramel and chocolate flavor, light residual sweetness, but also a yeast presence, both the aroma and flavor. Nothing special.
