From the pump at 1843, Rimini, Italy. Pours a brilliant light amber with almost no foam. Aroma is traditional of terrain and some hazelnut. Generally weak. Body is average with limited carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, with good bitterness. Finish is average.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy, long-lasting white head. The aroma is sweet malt, light fruit, woody resin hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, malt, woody hop, light watery metallic palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at St James Tavern, Winchester. Low key stewed fruit aroma. Chestnut. A few mm of a bubbly off-white head. Light bitter. Malty. Underlying caramel sweetness. Thin. Light. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Not sure the rum really makes its presence known. OK.

Cask at Chiltern Taps, HW, 29/10/17. Copper to brown in colour with a decent off white head. Nose is toffee, light spice, biscuit, mellow fruit rinds. Taste comprises brown sugar, dusty, biscuit, brown bread, light toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. A little wishy washy.

Cask, half-pint in Oddfellows, Exeter on 11th Nov 2017. Good looking beer, copper bronze body, off-white crown. Malty but not really treacle sweet at all, caramel and slight toffee flavours, light hop bitterness in the finish. Liked it.

Clear golden beer, thin head. Basically bugger all aroma but for touch or citrus. Sweet citrus, malt and a bit of hop in the taste. Fantastically bland but alright.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Swindon Beer Festival 26/10/2017. Copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hops, a hint of spice, sweet, golden syrup, notes, with some biscuity malts, before a suggestion of the house yeast character and moderately bitter finish. A good beer.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Orange/tan, clear, with a small compact off-white head. Butterscotch and hazelnut aroma. Pleasant but a touch artificial. Bittersweet biscuity taste with harsher hop flavour at the end. It's nicely balanced and has a pleasant silky palate. Not perfect but enjoyable enough.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Smooth sweet malts, smooth floral mid into sweetish floral citrus. Smooth finish. Nicely sweet floral citrus.
