Sustainability and locality is at the heart of what we do. Our water comes from deep in the Norfolk chalk from our private supply beneath the brewery, and is perfect for brewing real ale.
Our main ingredient, Maris Otter malting barley is grown locally at Branthill Farm on the Holkham Estate. This is some of he finest malting barley on the planet.

[500ml bottle from The Little Beer Shop, Blofield, Norfolk] Big whiff of sweet malt and fresh, crisp citrus on opening the bottle. Pours a deep gold/amber with a tiny, irregular white head. Slight carbonation yet quite soft mouthfeel. malt and citrus continue in foretaste with some honey. So far, so good, albeit a little watery. But.. oh no... some dry sourness creeps in as you drink more. Sourness fades into a dusty hop finish. An average beer that I wouldn’t particularly choose again.

Cask@GBBF2008. Golden colour with small off-white head. Aroma is sweetish bitter wood along with some grassy and flowery notes. Flavour is quite much the same. The wooden notes stay for long in the aftertaste.

Bottle National Winter Beer Festival, Manchester 2008 Poured very dark and started off with a bit of a tang, flavour’s were a bit loose with some roasted malt, coffee, and bitter chocolate but little bit uncoordinated. I found the aroma not awfully pleasant and came across as a bit guttery. Drank much easier than one might of expected considering the abv but only really ok in my book.
