27th June 2017
Can. Equinox, Mandarina Bavaria and Summer hops. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light and sweet. Big floral lemon, tangy lemon and a touch of bitter lemon. Pine and a trace of orange peel. Light smooth and bitterish finish. It’s good fun but the Lemon Verbena has been overdone a bit. I’d like to see this done again with a lighter touch.

Keg at The Rake. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma is toasty grain, straw, earthy, fragrant, floral, grainy and herbal notes. The taste is crisp, dry, fragrant, floral, herbal, lemon peel, tannin, white bread, alcohol and graininess with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Could be a bit cleaner and more succinct. Fair.
