Description
You can find Enville Brewery nestled amongst the beautiful rolling hills and valleys of the South Staffordshire countryside. Whilst stables may not be the obvious choice for most emerging breweries, Enville’s founder could see that these unused farm buildings would be the perfect, if somewhat unlikely, home for a brewery. We have have been brewing award-winning ales here in the village of Enville since 1993.

Pours a hazy golden colour with almost no head. Aroma is ginger and unsurprisingly, so is the flavour, some sweetness with a dry and warming spicy finish. It's ginger but doesn't offer to much else.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton – as Enville Ginger. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Has a creamy texture in the mouth. The ginger flavour is immediate, but restrained. There’s also honey and caramel there, together with hints of lemon, plus malts to give an overall sweet sensation. The ginger presides over the finish too. This is very nice – the beer and ginger are in the right proportions.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours almost black with a sizeable foamy cream head. Malts and biscuits in the aroma. Dark fruits are the mainstay in the mouth, along with liquorice and aniseed. Texture is somewhat watery and the finish is slightly sweet. OK – may need a rerate as was served too cold.

Flavour character of caramel and dried fruits. Dry malt-fruity finish. Fine depth. Satisfying. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).
