Description
We produce both cask and keg beer to the highest standards. From traditional best bitters, fermented in our open topped vessels, to hoppy IPA's fermented in our conical vessels, we aim to achieve the highest standards possible. We run a small lab in the brewery to ensure our beer is fermented cleanly, and is of the same high standard every time it comes to you. Our lab information is available to all our customers, from forced fermentation results and fining levels in cask beer to carbonation levels and yeast counts in keg beers. The Taproom at our brewery, located just off Perry Street, is designed to invite the community in Gravesend and beyond to come and see what we're up to on a regular basis, and see how we create and package our beer. The whole team share a passion for good beer, well cared for and well served. It is the aim of Iron Pier to provide great beer in the best condition we can.

Moderately hazed golden orange topped with a lasting white cap.
Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, straw.
Taste comprises citric tinged straw, light mineral bite, grass, tangerine.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with mellow hop bitterness.
Passable pale ... rather pedestrian in its approach.

[Cask at the Nags Head, Reading.] A hazy pale straw coloured pour with a loose white head; leafy aroma; dry floral taste to start, then a herbal bitterness kicks in. A tasty summer beer, different to the usual citrusy offerings.

Gravity cask at the Old Star, Shoreham. Dark gold and hazy with a small loose white head. Big dirty malt notes with some orange and grassy character. Sweet taste with a little bit of bitterness. More fruit here, including a touch of apricot. Light and slightly oily body. Flat. Not bad but not one of my favourite Iron Pier beers.

On tap at Low Key Taproom Ashford. Slight haze pale gold colour. Lasting white head. Light Belgian yeast presence. Very light peach esters. Mostly a light soft carbonated blond ale. Some biting hop on the finish. Just come back from Belgium and this is a very light version of the real thing. Carries anb well though.
