Bottle from taproom in Healey: pours yellowish with whitish head. Aroma is grain, herbs, slight sake. Taste is like a boozy heller bock. Sake is under represented.

12 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma is rich, with deep bourbon barrels, molasses, brown sugar, dark dried fruits, and caramel. Flavour is complex, with dark dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar, bourbon and toffee. Very viscous, surprisingly not boozy, and treacly. Lovely.

Can, mooch tasting, courtesy of Sergey
Black colour, thick. Aroma of wood, vanilla, chocolate, tobacco. Thick, but not very sweet, the sugars succumb to the burnt wood character, and the alcohol; notes of liquorice, vanilla. Rough.

12oz shared with Phill @ Matt's new place. Appearance: very dark brown with dark beige head. Aroma: sweet, lots of charred oak. Taste: along the same lines, quite thick, moderately sweet. Overall: good, but it's a bit too much of the charred oak here.

12 oz. can, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is very bold, with intense roasted malt, lots of whiskey barrels, wood, and big hops. Flavour is very woody and roasty, with intense wood, oak barrels, big roasted malt, and bold hops still poking through. Very roasty, woody, oaky and hoppy finish in great balance. Lovely bold whiskey BA stout.

On tap at 49th State, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma brings out fresh armpit hops, dank notes, some pine, and earthiness. Flavour is very sharp, with lots of armpits, extremely harsh bitterness, and earthiness. Pretty intrusive bitterness and sweatiness. Ugh, this is difficult to drink. Needs cleaning up.
