Description
Twisted Oak Brewery is a 5.5 BBL brewery based on a working farm in Wrington, North Somerset. We have been brewing beer here since 2012. We brew a range of fantastic real ales using the finest malts and hops we can get our hands on. Our fermenters are all open topped and we always use fresh, top fermenting yeast.

We use traditional brewing techniques & 100% renewable energy to create both modern craft and traditional brews.

The brewery is owned and run by Keith and Deb Hayles and Simon Gait.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 3/9/2018. Golden in colour, with a moderately-sized, white, head. Citrus character, some leafy hops, rich tea malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2018. A light hazed deep orange amber coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is woody marmalade, orange, jam, apricot. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody, green tea, grass, grassy orange., astringent grassy hop. Palate is pithy, grainy, moderate carbonation. Tea leaves.

24/8/2018. Cask at the 41st Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear dark amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of hops, malt, caramel and fruit. Medium bitterness with a bitter finish.

Cask at GBBF '18, day 1, 07/08/18. Clear golden amber with a thin off white cap. Nose is dusty fruit esters, breadcrumb, twiggy, straw. Taste comprises bitter sweet fruit rinds, earthy, hedgerow, stale bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Sub par at best.

ABV: 3.8%. Clear medium amber yellow colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, fruity malt, pale malt, rich malt - malty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180807]

Cask at the GBBF 2018 day 1 07/08/2018. A clear deep orange amber coloured pour with no head. Aroma is orange rind, Base malts. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy honey, tangy orange, Palate is slightly tangy, moderate carbonation. Ok.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Light haze on this amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, virtually no carbonation. Semi sweet grainy malts. Touch of ripe citrus. Whisper of peel. Smooth finish. Feels knackered.

[ As Twisted Oak Old Barn ].
ABV: 4.5%. Cloudy medium amber - red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, dark malt, sweet malt, light toasted - roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, toasted, caramel, sweet malt, dark malt, malt bitter, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180730]

Dan's Stag. Cornubia. Cask. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light dry palate, modest carbonation. Thin malts, somewhat grainy. Modest floralness. Insipid.citric hop, dry bitter finish. Not a fan, dry grainy and insipid.
