Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Light to mid-gold with a loose white head. Floral and fruity hop aroma white white grape and sticky resinous notes to the fore. Bittersweet taste, a bit soapy with more white grape. Light astringwncy heading toward the finish but make no mistake that this is a sweet beer. Decent stuff marred just a bit by mid-sip messiness.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford – not listed in RateBeer. Pours a lovely shade of mahogany with a small cream head. Nose is powerful and features roast malts and raisins. In the mouth the texture is creamy with flavours of fruit, raspberries and raisins. Finish is a bit watery, but with some bitterness. Looks wonderful but taste doesn’t quite live up to it.

Chocolate flavours followed by a prominent coffee touch towards the finish. Medium bodied. Could not spot the vodka part. Pleasant stout. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).
