Description
Twisted Oak Brewery is a 5.5 BBL brewery based on a working farm in Wrington, North Somerset. We have been brewing beer here since 2012. We brew a range of fantastic real ales using the finest malts and hops we can get our hands on. Our fermenters are all open topped and we always use fresh, top fermenting yeast.

We use traditional brewing techniques & 100% renewable energy to create both modern craft and traditional brews.

The brewery is owned and run by Keith and Deb Hayles and Simon Gait.

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 3 - London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a white froth head. Simple, with some gritty grains, damp hay, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. More damp, lightly bitter hay on the finish, some old lemon, husky grains. Meh.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light hoppy. Bitter, citrusy and crisp hoppy. Lingering fruity, bitter, slight citrusy. Dry and slight herbal finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer fest 2014. Bright golden coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is grainy some sweet honey and floral grass hop. Flavour is composed of nutty malt. grassy hop, bit of silage. Ordinary cask condition, light sweetness. Lingering berry fruit and solid earthy bitterness. OK.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Bristol Beer Factory’s Factoberfest, September 2014. Near black with a slight, tan, head. Some citrus hops, liquorice, hint of chocolate and dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is malt, burnt toffee, light caramel. The flavour is strong bitter with a smooth rich malt liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A superb ale. Lots going on.

Cask at GBBF ’14, day 1, 12/08/14. Clear golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is bready, light peach, tangerine. Taste comprises bread dough, citric peel, light orange, straw. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate GB.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. The great Harrisoni/madmitch76 walkabout. Lightly hazy gold beer, good off white head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Light pale malts, slight German style nuttyness. Very light floral citrus. Light dry finish. Not bad.

At GBBF 2014. Hazy old gold. it’s a no condition dirty blond ale. Not much hop not great.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 25/7/2014. Pale gold, with a decent white head. Big, sharp, hops, with plenty of lime and lemon fruits, creamy malts and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
