Can from Against The Grain. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of bay leaf, grass and pear skin. Flavour follows suit - very ‘green’ with melon rind and spring onion. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A solid, green IPA.

Can from The Beerhive. Milky golden body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Aroma of overripe melon and pine. Flavour of lime chutney, pine and a peppery hop finish. Medium to full body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A boozy, heavy TIPA. It’s pretty good but I hoped for more - it’s a sipper.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy ruby body with a pink head that fades. Lively carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of glazed cherries, cherry cola and mashed strawberries. Flavour of cherry, tart cranberries and a sweet, moreish finish. A sweet, tangy kriek. So much flavour for the ABV.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, spring onion, flower petals and grass. Flavour of lemon, lemongrass and Smirnoff Ice. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. This is as good as I hope it would be - it’s juicy, subtly sour and has lovely hippy flavours.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of papery malt, cornflakes and orange pith. Flavour follows suit - it’s more papery than fruity. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A disappointing IPA. Polly’s hoppy beers are either weirdly papery/pithy or world class hop juice.
