Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#15. POOLE. More avoiding the sights with it being monsoon season seemingly mid-afternoon in the town. Golden with a frothy-bubbly head. Session hoppy, but with a good body, and a good mouthfeel in the palate. Bitter-sweet.

Micropub catering to a very local clientele. It's not too wide but goes quite deep into the building ending in a pool table and a rear garden beyond its floorboards. There doesn't seem to have a great deal of thought into its appearance though, a little rough and ready. Nevertheless, its microbrewed cask selection is worth a look-in and if it's not lashing down with rain as per my visit, you can sit out front and people watch in the long main commercial street terrace area. One craft keg available.

Austria has been a bit of a pinball nation for me, having shot into it on five different occasions but have never ever spent a night there - a personal record amongst all countries! Hazy, strong tasting, sticky-sweet tropical fruit although with a notable citrus base in this instance.

Today is the feast day of 'Thomas The Apostle', initially a 'Doubting Thomas', he ended up perhaps with even more faith than most once the Lord revealed himself to him. This version of Faith in terms of taste is quite true to the original version, however it's as you would expect very strength-infused, and as much as the juicy, mildly sticky-sweet tropical fruit tries to dominate, it's always a factor. Morrisons in Skipton provided this hazy beer.

Picking this beer out of the fridge my mind thought of an old University friend called Mirza, who had an incredible story at the time having delayed his education to fight in the Balkan War. This Balkan brewery have described this beer as a 'Crisp IPA', which feels a little like pushing the boundaries for a full-bodied 5.8% beer. It is tropical fruity in aroma and taste, verging on sticky-sweet and pretty decent, with hints of pine.
