Metalchopz Profile

750ml wax-topped bottle pouring a real, dark brown colour. Looks more like their Imperial Stout than your typical Barleywine. A nice mocha-coloured head, decent stay and a few lacing spots. Getting lots of chocolate, cacao notes with a touch of vanilla in the nose. Hints of dark fruits, like plums and some molasses. A smooth, silky mouthfeel with some good bitter-drying finish, but not overly. A nice warming alcoholic feel is felt. Feels like dark malts in the taste with the Bourbon giving a tad raisins, some more chocolate, plum and just a bit of oak-vanilla. This is quite delicious, but really feels more like Imperial Stout territory - which is fine with me. Was expecting the big-sweet hit, but got a nice warming darker brew.
