Garrold Profile

Bottle via the online shop. Not too lively a pour. Sits hazed copper red with a slim ring of just off white foam. Nose has oaky old school wine. Like it’s been in the glass overnight. Vanilla and cherry juice. Nicely buggy. Taste is pretty sweet and fruity up front with a light tart juicy character. Drinks easy overall although the condition could be livelier. This feels a tad flat and lifeless. Maybe it’ll spruce itself up. Juicy fruity vinous finish.

Can picked up at Rigg and Furrow. Clear gold. Not much of a head. Nose has slightly metallic grain. Whiff of butter. Hops are conspicuous by their absence unfortunately. Taste is semi sweet. Flat and dull on the palate. Low carbonation. Dull and a bit flabby on the finish. Doesn’t deliver.

Can picked up at the brewery. Also on tap at source. Light haze on a pale yellow. Very slim white foam. Nose has crisp lemony hop. Orange pith. Taste has the swiftest of a sweet flicker but, as advertised, it’s bone dry. Very light crisp and refreshing. Drinks mighty easy. Dry and lightly bitter finish. Solid gear. Could imagine a sloppy 6 pints of this.

Tap. Rigg and Furrow. Clear very dark red. Slim sticky beige foam. Nose has dry roast coffee. Ash. Vine fruit. Taste is dry and earthy. Light vinous bitterness. Some light sweetness when it warms. Dry and clean. Bitter dry finish.

Tap. Rigg and Furrow. Hazed pale gold. Slim white foam. Nose has wheat. Plenty of fruity hop. Taste has light sweetness and firm hop bitterness. Clean and refreshing.
