Troubadour Westkust is a dark, almost black tasting beer with notes of hop, roasted malt, coffee and subtle hints of chocolate and vanilla. The taste is a balance between roasted malt and coffee followed by a strong but pleasant bitterness that slowly becomes more persistent and creates a long hoppy aftertaste.

Starchy. Musty. Like a milk stout. Not a black ipa

Deep brown with an off white head. Pine notes along with velvety molasses, light roasted notes, ripe fruit. Medium to full body. Nice.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours dark reddish brown, immaculate head of off white foam, excellent lacing
looks to be clear.
Smells of bakers chocolate, bitter hops, some coffee, alcohol.
Taste is pretty yeasty and spicy. Dark chocolate, some coffee bring some serious bitterness. After taste seems to be where the spice shows up the most for me. Hints of cloves and cinnamon.
Full bodied, full flavoured, alcohol not as noticeable as I thought it would be but there's plenty of warming.
Glad to get a chance to drink this on draught

0.1 l on tap at 'The Shakespeare' at 8.5% abv. Almost black with a large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny and slightly roasty-malty aroma of tropical fruits, blueberry, some pine and a touch of chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty, rather fruity and slightly resiny taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, tropical fruits, blueberry, some tobacco and a touch of pine, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, resiny finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker bruin bier tot zwart bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een moutige gebrande geur. De smaak is gebrand mout, chocolade en hoppig.

330ml bottle. Black with a big creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, fruity hops, hints of sugary chocolate. Taste of roast malts, chocolate, dried fruits, berries, a bit yeasty, spicy, bitter finish, quite different from most black IPAs. Medium-full body, smooth mouthfeel, average carb.

330ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours dark brown/black with a wonderful frothy beige head. Aroma is yeast, caramel, dried fruit. Taste is medium sweet, toffee, chocolate, light bitterness. Really tasty, but very uncharacteristic for a black IPA.

Bottle. Cloudy brown colour. Yeast particles drifting around. Moderate ivory-coloured head. Aroma: noble spicy yeast, toffee, fruit jam, berries. Medium to full body. Rich malty taste. Dried fruit, some bread. Dry ending with plenty of grassy hops. Oh yes. Another Musketeers bomb.
