The beer that started it all. Caribbean Chocolate Cake is a dense, rich and luxurious stout – even more so this year with the smooth, thick drinking nitro edition. The body of this beer is full and decadent, encapsulating the ‘Cake’ element in the name more than ever before! Hand-roasted cacao nibs give hints of tamarind and soft lemon, along with a beautiful chocolate baseline. The malts provide coffee and roast notes in abundance, while the hop profile adds orange and coconut flavours. Spinning on Cypress wood is the icing on the cake - offering lightly toasted vanilla wafers and delicate tannins, balancing the inherent sweetness of the beer. Pure canned indulgence.

33cl Blik van Etre Gourmet. 2021 is alleen af te lezen aan de canning date onderaan het blik. Zwarte kleur, beige nitro kraag, ziet er weer prachtig uit. Gebrande mout, koffie, licht kruidig, medium zoet, chocolade, heel licht prikkelend pepertje, toffee, bitterzoete gebrande finish. Medium body, romig. Prima stout.

Picked this up directly from Siren brewery Finchampstead in December. Had this sat in. Frank outside Brauerei Leidmann brewery/restaurant carpark Thursday 23rd January 2025. Pours black, lovely mouthfeel. Good balance, some sweetness with chocolate but there is a little bit of bitterness and fruity edge. This is really good also compared to some of the variants the abv is quite modest. Really nice, don't really know much about nitro stuff but I'm sure that it is all to do with texture and mouthfeel and so if that's the case it works well here.

(Draught at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall, London, 19 Nov 2023) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, cacao, vanilla and cypress wood. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, cacao, coffee, vanilla, wood and a generous cacao bitterness. More than medium body, quite sweet. Rich and tasty, with lots of cacao and vanilla. Very nice.

can. purchased 2023 not cigar city version. pitch dark, brown to light brown head, large. i poured hard as instructed. looks nice. aroma of coconut, coffee, coca, roasted malts. Flavor is vanilla sweet, honey or syrup, roasted malts, carred wood, very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, brown sugar note. a lot of flavor for the 7.4% , is a lot like a traditional imperial stout, while quite sweet, the sweetness seems to be coming mainly from chocolate. A very elegant pastry stout with a fairly huge base beer than can handle all the additional flavors

Very dark brown with little ruby highlights. The head is mocha-coloured, starts off bubbly, kind of frothy, but becomes creamy, quite long lasting with some decent creamy lacing. Big chocolate, cacao aromas over the roasted barley. Hints of tropical fruits. These come a little more out in the taste and the base is chocolate malts and cocoa powder light tart. The mouthfeel is very smooth with the nitro and the finish is on the dry side, woody. An interesting chocolate stronger stout with a bunch of other ingredients that work well together.
