Hazy gold with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, spice. Taste is bitter, slightly citric, with a lingering yeasty note underneath. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Decent.

Can from the source. Pours hazed gold with a huge white cap. Overcarbed. Aroma: yeast esters, light caramel. Taste: Moderate+ sweet with lighter bitterness, dry, quite estery, hugely boozy. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Lacks balance. A rare Buxton miss for me.

Can. Unclear golden body under a huge, foamy white head. Aroma is typical for a Belgium golden ale, spicy esters, banana and some generic fruitiness. Taste is very sweet pale malt, white sugar, yeasty esters, some alcohol and moderate bitterness. True to style, totally Belgium impression. Alcohol is present but well hidden considering the high ABV. Not my favorite style of beer and not much going on besides the impressive Belgium expression.

Can from Beyond Beer Advent Calendar Beer Geek Edition, drinking this at home Thursday 22nd December 2022 listening to Marc Riley on 6Music we are cooking Minced Beef and Cheddar Pies for tea and Mince Pies for work. Pours hazy dark gold with a white head. Nice spicy edge, a very dry finish, super soft moutheel, tastes quite easy drinking for the abv. Good fruitiness but again very dry and with a nice bitterness, s very good interpretation of a classic Belgian style, like this a lot, love the spicy yeastyness.

Can from the Beyond Beer advent calendar, drunk after preparing the sketch of our hopefully future basement wood stove. Very curious what this'll look like. As for the beer: gushing can. Reddish amber light haze with a head that fills 80% of the glass. Nose of spices from yeast esters. It's a bit sweet at first but then a big bitterness, pretty smooth and super long lasting. It's more like a Belgian IPA. I'm loving the moderate body and delicious dry crispness on a nine percenter with these white wine notes, really nice.

330ml can. Slightly hazy amber gold, big frothy white head. Aroma is very Belgian - yeast esters, caramel, banana. Taste is sweet, banana, caramel, really strong yeasty esters, dry bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines Sheffield. Hazed medium gold. Froth of white. Semi lacing and leggy. Nose has caramel. Estery yeast. Rotted sweet berry fruit. Taste has a sickly sweetness, and a fairly harsh estery bitterness. Dry and fairly thin on the palate for the hefty ABV. Foamy carbonation. Dry and light bitter finish. Very one dimensional.
