The appearance has a golden amber colored body leaving a half finger’s worth of white head that lasts barely twenty seconds and fades into the body. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen. Minimal lacing is left here and there.
The smell is based around the malts and some really light peach, more so as it warms up.
The taste is pretty much the same.
The palate is about a light to medium, maybe closer to medium, nothing harsh on the tongue, just an average overall decent feel.
Overall, not exactly impressive, but not bad, average and unsure if I’d have again.

The appearance has a semi-brown colored body with a slightly clearness to it. There is a 2 and a half finger white foamy head that gets a bit lumpy. Carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace.
The smell is spicey through the Amarillo hops and rye, slight malts only come out as the beer warms.
The taste is spicey yet sweet at times through previously mentioned flavors.
The palate is light to medium, comes across sessionable, and becomes smooth as it warms. There is a crisp dry sweet aftertaste and finish.
Overall, whether its a Rye Beer or an AIPA, its good to me, I would have another.

The appearance has a deep rich dark brown body that leaves a half finger creamy tan head. It lasts for about thirty seconds. Some spotty, spider webbed lacing appears. No carbonation is seen rising.
The smell has some toasty breadiness with a caramel buttery background.
The taste has all of the previously stated smells combined evenly.
The palate is medium bodied, pretty watery, but not a bad watery, perhaps slightly expected. This is fairly drinkable.
Overall, I’ve had better Scottish ales and probably wouldn’t seek this one out again at least from the bottle. However, I am interested in more beers from Penobscot Bay Brewery.

Bomber. Pour is very dark for the style... Almost a medium brown but not quite there... Lots of head forms and leaves clumps on the side of the glass. Aromas are malty with a fig and date sugariness to them, but not much in the way of hops. Agitating and letting the beer warm don’t seem to encourage hoppy aromas either. Flavor is interesting... Not sure if I like the combination or not, but the malt definitely has a brown sugar and fig edge to it and the hop presence is more bitter than flavorful. There is a little bit of a herbal side to it, but not much. If you had given me this beer as a blind tasting and made me guess style, I don’t think I would have guessed IPA in the first twenty guesses. That said, it’s interesting.

It pours a dark brown leaving the same color body. A small white film of a head appears and settles immediately into the body. The smell has the malts up front with some nice roasty caramel coming in as the beer warms. The taste takes those smells and makes it very sweet in an earthy sort of way. The palate is about a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. There is a dry aftertaste. It is fairly drinkable. Overall, this is good for its style and good for me.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 22oz bottle pours a watery, opaque black with some creamy, white head. Malty nose, crackers, toasted bread, brown sugar, light vanilla. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, vanilla, licorice, molasses.

22 oz bottle. Poured as dark as Batman’s cape. Thick beige head upon first pour which died down a bit. Left nice lacing. Nose is a baker’s chocolate. Taste up front is malt, chocolate in the finish. Body is light, texture is an oily mouthfeel, carbonation is low. Ok stout. Shared with LiteWait

22 oz bottle, pored a hazy straw, yellow. Nice big fluffy head that produced large spotted head. Aroma is Bravarian wheat, light citrus and a hint of coriander/spice. Taste is much the same as of the aroma. And is a very light refreshing brew. The down fall is it’s a very watery mouthfeel lacking any real body. A bad beer? No. However I would move to the next one
