Description
Note that the Thornbridge Hall series (largely one off and specials circa 2010-15) deliberately carry the Thornbridge name in their title.

Innovation Passion and Knowledge in all we do - and to have some fun along the way. The Thornbridge story began back in 2005 when the founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall. Soon demand outstripped supply and the need for a new Brewery became clear. In 2009 a brand new state of the art brewery was built at Riverside, Bakewell to meet with demand and allow Thornbridge to develop their range of beers.

Brewing still takes place today on the original kit at Thornbridge Hall, which allows us to experiment with new brews, create bespoke Hall brews, collaborations and assist the main brewery in Bakewell.

Smooth, slightly soapy and fruity with some floral notes, hints of citrus, pineapple and mango. Easy going, slightly light bodied.

Opalescent pale yellow colour, minimal white head; aroma of blood orange, grapefruit, peach and maybe some slight pear notes; taste has similar notes to the aroma with some hoppy, as well as medicinal bitterness and orange juice notes; correct one

Can, thanks Fin! Dark. Soy sauce, licorice, malt, mint, herbal. Sweet, earthy, balanced, long, warm. Not bad. Like it.

Thanks for the can Fin! Darkest brown, golden brown head. Roasted notes, earthy, light licorice, very nice flowery, herbal, citric hops, good balance. Medium full mellow body. Aromatic aftertaste.

440ml can from Asda. Clear dark gold with foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, funk, pine. There is a very nice balance to this, mid-sweet, mid-bitter with notes of malt, tangerine, grapefruit, pine, mild medicinal notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Good.

Half cask from Piccadilly Tap, Manchester. Pours a clear light gold with smooth white head once settled, nice lacing. Notes of cereal, melon, hint of mango and biscuit but that's being generous. Its extremely bland. Lovely smooth mouthfeel, modest bitterness.

It's brewed for an audience that that likes cask but doesn't want too much flavour in their ales. I would have thought that those guys would already have their favourites and wouldn't turn to Thornbridge but I could be wrong.

On tap at Hops, Crewe (but have drunk it before). Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma is a somewhat curious mix of malts, molasses, chocolate and earth. In the mouth it is mainly sweet but with some bitter and sharp hints and a creamy texture. Flavour has roasted malts, coffee and hints of citrus. Some floral hops too which gradually increase leading to a slightly dry finish. This is rather nice ! Lots of complexity and hides its strength well.

Had this 15th October 2025 in the company of Jude at Hereford Beer House, Hereford. Pours hazy warm gold/light amber with excellent mid/large foamy head. Quite crisp, fresh, clean, nice fruity bite and a great bitterness. This is a very more'ish' beer, I loved it immediately and wished I'd of picked some up from Thornbridge the other day
