Description
Note that the Thornbridge Hall series (largely one off and specials circa 2010-15) deliberately carry the Thornbridge name in their title.

Innovation Passion and Knowledge in all we do - and to have some fun along the way. The Thornbridge story began back in 2005 when the founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall. Soon demand outstripped supply and the need for a new Brewery became clear. In 2009 a brand new state of the art brewery was built at Riverside, Bakewell to meet with demand and allow Thornbridge to develop their range of beers.

Brewing still takes place today on the original kit at Thornbridge Hall, which allows us to experiment with new brews, create bespoke Hall brews, collaborations and assist the main brewery in Bakewell.

25th September 2025, third of a pint at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival. Clean and clear golden amber body, white affair on top. Pleasing aroma of fruity goodness and malts, taste a fine blend of citrus/tropical fruits, maltiness and piney traces, nice, easy drinking beer.

A refreshing and pleasant Brit take on the west coast IPA. A thin but well laced white head covers a pale straw body. Very visible carbonation. Fresh citrus fruit led by lemon and orange elements work well with a hint of melon and soft sweet malt. I wouldn't call the hop presence massive by North American standards, but punchy and gripping nonetheless.

Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant.

440ml can from Waitrose, in Bath, England. Pours a very dark brown color with dark ruby highlights and a large, thick, light tan head and excellent retention. Very good lacing. Dark chocolate aroma. The taste follows the nose, with sweet milk chocolate and dark bittering chocolate notes mixing together. Creamy texture. Super smooth and clean. Almost a dessert beer. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. And the 6.8% ABV is invisible. Great beer
