On tap at Whip In. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is yeast, banana, citrus. Thin mouthfeel with strong banana, yeast, clove, and light fruit finish. Good.

Bottle - Orange liqueur, sugar and a bit herbal. Clear orange copper with a thin beige head. Orange and medicinal with a bit of a acrid finish. I am not a fan.

750mL bottle from 2009 or 2010. Aroma had a lot of caramel and toffee character with moderate burnt toast notes. Lighter roast, chocolate and nut character. Medium notes of raisin, fig and prune. Light alcohol note. Pours a fairly dark brown with some ruby highlights and burnt amber hues. Medium thick, half inch tall, tan head that shoes slightly above average retention. Light lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor has a light tartness to it. Medium strong caramel and toffee notes with some burnt toast and lighter roast character. Moderate bitterness and medium low alcohol spice. Some moderate raisin, fig and prune notes. Light phenolic spice. As it warms the chocolate becomes more pronounced. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall the beer is alright, but also not amazing. Lots of malt character with some complimentary fruit notes. The tartness was unexpected and not a good addition.

Location: Draft at Luke in San Antonio, 1/26/14
Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast, spice, orange/citrus, and some herbal hops
Appearance: It pours an yellow-orange color, slightly murky, with a white head
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet, with plenty of spice and yeast flavors, and mid-bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, it had an average-plus carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This is pretty interesting example of the style. It leans dry/bitter compared to most other tripels, but otherwise it is pretty on-style. Happy 3rd Anniversary to Ranger Creek, I enjoy your beers.

Bottle Julie brought back from San Antonio. Pours hazy ruddy brown with a transient tan smear. Rather tart cherry aroma. Rather! Med body, more or less. Mouth twitches at first contact. It is sour with some dark malt and fruit underlaying the cherries. It is and finishes tart/sour. Tho it mellows out with time. Good drink.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Central Market, 1/8/14, Batch # LB-007, 2/21/2012
Aroma: The nose is dark fruit and a little malty, with some toffee and some spice
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish color with a small beige sheet of head and streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is rather sweet, lots of toffee malts and fruity flavors coming through
Palate: The body leans full, fairly sticky on the mouth, with a smooth finish
Overall Impression: I actually found this one to be pretty interesting. It isn't as complex or well developed as some of the better examples of the style, and it is a little too sweet, but it is still a tasty beer.

This beer pours a cloudy orange color with a medium fizzy off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Medium to full body with flavors of tropical fruits, caramel malt and oaky tannins. The finish is malty with lingering fruity esters in the aftertaste. Interesting beer overall that I initially thought was a strong Saison of some sort. Decent overall.

Waxed bottle from Bu11zeye. Pours hazy orange with a 3 finger creamy off-white or beige head. Aroma is amazing fruit and oak. Full bodied - possibly due to the strong carbonation. Not sparkling - just a lot. Flavor is toffee, light stone fruit, lots of oak/wood, and something like barnyard/leather. Like a light touch of brett. This was bottled 10-8-12. One can only imagine what it will be like in the future. Good stuff indeed.
