Small white head. Amber body. Meaty tomato aroma, very weak. Dryish-sweetish caramelly perfumy cardboard taste with meaty notes. Thinnish body. Watery mouthfeel. Dryish perfumy malty aftertaste, very thin. Very disappointed by this. (0.5l bottle from OleR.)

500ml bottle, bb.26.06.2010, served at ambient temperature at Den Gode Nabo. Rocky, dense white hue over a hazy amber body. Very good laceworks on the glass. Essentially a malty beer with aroma of dry malts and taste of earthy, sweet malts. Finish off with an aftertaste of bitter fruits. A bit thin, but exhibits some enjoyment. Standard malt ale (Trondheim, 12.03.2009)

(Bottle on 2009-02-14) Reddish brown and bit hazy. Small white head. Sweet malty aroma. Full bodied, watery and dry palate with little carbonation. Malts, spiciness, sweetness, bitterness, juniper berries and hint of roastedness. Roastedness in aftertaste. This beer has got potential but is tastes like it has been diluted with water in oder to achieve the 4.5 % alcohol content.

Bottle 0,5l. Golden colored. A rapidly disappearing white head. Modest fruity aroma. A bit unvaried flavor with fruity hints. Refreshing. Some yeast in the aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, 6 months past BB date, kindly shared by OleR. ABV is 6.2%. Deep golden colour, cloudy, big to moderate head. Hoppy, grainy and somewhat perfumed aroma and flavour. Oxidized. Drank it too warm though.

Bottle, at Cardinal. A nice-looking brown body is topped by a small, off-white to beige head. The aroma is somehow strange, with some licorice notes, roasted malts and something reminiscent of alcohol and solvent. Weak flavor too, with roasted malt and some faint notes of dried fruits. Thin to medium body, and a roasted, caramel finish. Not very impressive, and possibly infected or bad brewed. Rating: 4-3-5-3-10-2.5. 081130

Bottle, at Cardinal. After a quite disappointing experience when I tasted it the first time, I though I should give it another try. It’s still an almost clear, brown beer, topped by a small, beige head. The aroma is still suggesting infection, but I would have thought that it would have been totally wrecked after all this months. It isn’t. Actually, I think it’s better now, and there’s some roasted and spiced aromas too. Roasted, slightly sour flavor with coffee. Medium body. Quite nice, in a very strange way. Certainly not the usual Christmas beer. 090728

Botte, at Cardinal. What Cardinal digs up of obscure Norwegian beers continue to surprise me. The two new Ølve beers are supposed to be found only near the brewery and are made in very small quantities. Still, Cardinal have them. This one pours a slightly hazy golden body under an off-white head. A few floaties. Fruity, bready nose with a sourish touch. Quite pleasant actually. The flavor also has a little sour touch, almost candy-like, with toffee and fruit hops. A slight bready note too, going all the way into the finish. Fruity-sour finish with balancing maltyness. Medium body. A farmish beer, quite decent, but not in the league of the Ølve Øl. (081130)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy, with a big and lasting white head. The aroma has notes of pale malts, fruity hops and honey, hints of resin. The flavour has pleasant fruity hops on a decent background of pale malts, hints of resin and maybe a little smoke in the finish. Nice one.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate creamy beige head. Nice aroma of malts and juniper / resin, hints of spices and smoke. The flavour has a noticeable acidity, some malts, also a hint of resin and a faint hint of smoke. Minimal hops. The mouthfeel is too thin.

500 ml bottle. Thanx to Yngwie and everyone else involved in bringing this rare beer to my home. Almost clear reddish orange body with a disappearing off-white head. Aroma of caramel and some butterscotch. Flavor is refreshing malty, bitter with some caramel. Relatively sweet and with something giving me a little association of forest. Promising but not quite successful.
