Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Deep mahogany, almost black, with a loose beige head; lightly spiced aroma; demarara sugar taste, but without being sweet and some well done toast in the background; then a firm bitterness, and an earthy, almost peaty, finish. A rather good mild.

Cask at the New Leathern Bottle, Bracknell. Enjoyed on a brilliant summer’s evening, watching a red kite soar over the beer garden. A bright reddish amber colour with a ring of cream head; malty aroma; soft malty body with an unusual spicy bitterness; leaving a pleasant spiced biscuit finish. Not a typical Belgian Brun beer, but very good nevertheless.

Cask pint in the Victoria Station Wetherspoons on 28th March 2015. Red hue to the very dark mahogany body: on top a creamy tanned head. Malts all the way here, with some heavy fruit flavours thrown into the ambers of the burning pit. Decent and interesting: most likely my favourite beer of the festival (only tried about 18).
