Opaque black - brown beer, tidy tan head. Airy dry palate. Nice dark malt. Smooth but dry. Trace of coffee. Good balance of wood and bourbon with vanilla cream. Semi dry finish with mild bitter linger. Classic BA RIS.

From a 12 oz bottle in Avon NC. Pours a clear pale gold with a fine white head. Aroma of bread dough. Crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. Hints of citrus with the soft malt flavors. Crisp and tangy finish. Nice beer for the beach.

Cask at ACAT. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of oak and light citrus with a bit of grassy hops. Flavor has pine up front that mellows to citrus with some sweet grains and oak.

Black Squirrel, DC tap: Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is clove, citrus, and other spices. Taste is slightly sweet, with some citrus. Somewhat sweet. Mellow, but not very interesting.

Deep dark brown under a tan head. Roast malt and cocoa aroma. The flavor is simple and straight forward. Lightly sweet, some roast malt bitterness to balance it. A bit thin. Maybe more disappointed because I’ve had a few others that were much better and I expected more from ME.

750ml bottle brought to Churchkey by GT2. Thanks GT! Poured a slightly hazy orange color with a large white head. Aroma is wet leather notes, though when it warmed up a bit it lost some of that character. Flavor is very sugary, with some light peach notes - other fruit notes.

750ml bottle brought to Churchkey by GT2. Thanks jerk. Pours a hazy, dark orange with some cloudy white head. Nose of wood pulp, nail polish, a little fusel alcohol, some white grape, tons of syrupy candy. Flavor is sweet, lightly malty, fruity, apples, some tropical fruit, more cheap candy. Full, sticky finish. Cloying. I wanted more peach.

Bottle courtesy of GT2, thank you sir! This one smells like shoe leather at first, or boots that have been rode hard and put up wet. Fornutaely the peaches appear as it warms, plus a little vanilla. Taste is similar to peach slices in white wine, which I used to drink as a kid on the farm near Naples, Italy. Interesting.

Bottle shared at the Richmond Industry Gathering. Pours a hazy amber color with a thin frothy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of bread, raisin, spice, wood, faint whisky. The taste is toasted bread, spice, caramel and whisky. Medium-full bodied.

Dark with a medium head. Aroma was light chocolate, a bit of toasted malts, caramel, and light coffee. Smooth body. Flavor was similar to the aroma with a slight metallic finish that threw me off a bit. Good beer.
