Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a hazy dark brown color with a medium sized foamy orange-tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was toasty and malty with a moderate toffee presence. The flavor was toasty and malty with notes of toffee, molasses, caramel and fruit. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol well contained. Well done.

Bottle. Cloudy dull tan. Med foam. Has a touch of herbal hop but mostly yeasty. Lots of bitterness but a husky, oversparged malt character. Unclean.

Tap bocktown. Nice dark rootbeer eye. Sweet roasted nose. A little coarse on the tongue at first. Even becomes a little medicinal toward the middle. Not impressed. Difficult in the end.

At Patrick’s. Big and black. Smells like coffee of course. Mild coffee flavors from the start, not rude or peppery like so many other coffee stout wannah bees. Yes, coffee is present but it’s never in yer face. Bitterness is minimized throughout. Nice way to bring real coffee flavors into a stout. Goes down quite easy, I liked this brew. Not sure what the alky level is but it seems quite civilized and well behaved. Nice job CB!

Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

12 oz. bottle from a trade with Joshua C. on Untappd. No date coding on bottle. Color is a unfiltered amber, fast dying head. Aroma is mild pine, weak fruits and lighter caramel.
Flavor starts with pineapple, candied oranges with a mild caramel malt base. The bitterness is pine resin with a slightly herbal. Bitterness is low with a slick / sticky texture. Pretty average single IPA.
