floral and tropical hops on the nose. A well blended American IPA with melon, kiwi, and citrus notes. Highly carbonated with smooth sweet malt. As usual, you can expect well crafted beer but nothing spectacular from Simple Malt.

A fast dissipating low white head on a unfiltered orange/yellow body. The nose features fresh grapefruit, pineapple, pine and bready malt. The taste is a medley of fresh fruit elements - lots of mango, lemon, melon, grapefruit and green apple. The malt is sweet but not cloying. Medium plus body with a slick smooth mouth feel. My favorite Simple Malt in a long time.

A low tan head on a near black body. Nose leads with roasted coffee, roasted malt and some chocolate. A clean and balance IS. Just nothing out of the ordinary. Roasted coffee, some dark fruit, caramel and chocolate work together to a clean finish. body is not overly dense or rich for an imperial.

A fizzy off white head with no lacing over a chocolate caramel body. The nose pops with sour fruit, then apricots and sweet malt. The sour berries persist into the taste, a real shock for an alleged Old Ale. Roasted dark caramel malt, chocolate, plums and raisins create a more traditional backdrop. Touches of acidity, rum and rum spice, and oak round out a complex taste profile. A bit odd, but I’m still drinking it.

An East Coast IPA that overdoes the malt. Big roasted malt, nuttiness and some astringent hops with a slightly metallic finish. Pretty heavy slogging.

The nose features a soft yeastiness, brown sugar and light malt. Taste tilts towards the sweet side, featuring lots of complementary elements: rich fruitiness, raisins, dark fruit, bubble gum, molasses and caramel, and a touch of chocolate. A nice strong beer on the Abbaye side, but sweeter than I usually like

More than a bit underwhelming. The nose is faint malt over a standard black/brown body with a fluffy off-white head. The body is a bit thin for a 7.2% strong ale black ipa. Every element of the taste is a bit faint. There is just not a lot there. Disappointing.
