From cask at Southampton Arms. Pours pale and slight hazy yellow to greenish with no lasting head. Aroma is acidic and citrusy fruity. Mild acetone in the perry based flavour. Dry and acidic flavoured. Light acetone into the finish. Despite the strange notes I like this one.

Polycask at Banbury Beer Festival 07-05-10 Pours shimmering silver touch cloudy. Crikey this is a mouth wakener, really zappy but gloriously full on in the mouth, some nail varnish also noted, quite interesting to have the Blakeney Red and then have this one. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

500ml Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, Staunton on Wye, Herefordshire, purchased and consumed 21-03-10 Appearance is a lovely light gold colour, good clarity and a few frisky bubbles leaping about. The aroma is lightly floral with a hint of the juicy fruitiness that is to come. Lovely juicy sweet pears in the mouth, very soft in mouth and incredibly easy drinking, there is just a hint of dryness at the end, a very decent perry that I could have easily consumed all afternoon. From a polypin at the Bristol beer festival, 19/03/10. Pale, slightly hazy gold in colour. Tart aroma of pear juice. Flavour was dry, with some acidic fruit but enough juice to be refreshing. Good.

Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, Staunton on Wye, Herefordshire purchased and consumed 08-01-10 Pours medium gold good clarity. Aroma is touch sharp and with slight cider apple vinegar notes, bit of wood also. Taste is dry, really quite crisp and clean appley tasting but overall a really quite subtle cider. Its a bit woody, drinks much easier than its strength but really lacks the depth of flavour of others in the Gwatkin stable, that said it’s an enjoyable little number. A5 A4 F7 P3 Ov12 3.1

Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, Staunton on Wye, Herefordshire purchased and consumed 08-01-10 Pours warm gold, aroma is sweet apples but a touch dusty. Sweet in the mouth, overipe apples, touch zesty in the mouth its fine and compared to some of the more industrial swill masquearding as cider not bad, but it lacks the presence of some of the other Gwatkins ciders and if anything tastes like a watered down version of a normal Gwatkin product but with the addition of a bit more sweetness. Bag in a box at 2nd Thanet Cider and Perry festival, Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate. Cloudy orange colour. Good aroma of apple and orange. Bit of funk. Really good in mouth and very dry on finish. Good puckering feel, really gets the gums. Lovely, says medium, but I’d say more medium dry. Great. Bit of film developer and good acidity.
