Very dark brown but not black. Tall light beige head. There are some floaties but it’s minimal. Dry roasted coffee, cocoa powder, dark burnt malts, earthy, a touch of caramel. Medium bodied. Finish is dry and bitter chocolate. Skews dry and bitter. Very nice.

Reddish copper with a light tan head. Bolder hop bite than was expected layered over a toasted malt backbone. Some fruit, floral and earth. A solid ale.

Bottle 50cl. poured into a pint glass. Cloudy deep golden colour with floating yeast paricles, good frothy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma pale malt, grain, orange, abricot, orange marmalade, biscuit, citrusy hops. Taste malty, grain, orange, abricot, biscuit, light spicy notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, zesty and pithy till the end, very nice.

Bottle 50cl. @home poured into a pint glass. Clear medium amber colour, tall mousy off-white head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malt, caramel, citrusy hops, bit cheesy. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, caramel, some lemon, again that strange cheesy element... Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, acceptable.

Old notes from Oct 2014 - This one I really enjoyed.. even more so because it was different beer no. 800 of my challenge, brought back from Ireland by my suffering wife. Pours a orange colour with a white head that lasts a few minutes, tastes of citrus & spice with a long lasting aftertaste of bitterness. One bottle I'd look forward to coming across again!
