Description
General guidance to members adding beers:-

Kernel beers are largely added as 'series' and the naming within the various series are for example ... 'Pale Ale - Hop(s)'. Capital letter on each hop, no commas.

Kernel beers are largely left unretired so don't tick the 'out of production' box unless it's a special/collaboration beer.

With all the various hop combinations it's not been unknown for a specific beer to re-appear again after an absence of 7 years.

The early beers named as 'sours' were brewed by kettle souring, as such these beers (typically 4% and below) are regarded by the brewer to be more akin to a Berliner Weisse stylistically and are therefore listed as such.

The brewery springs from the need to have more good beer. Beer deserving of a certain attention. Beer that forces you to confront and consider what you are drinking. Upfront hops, lingering bitternesses, warming alcohols, bodies of malt. Lengths and depths of flavour. We make Pale Ales, India Pale Ales and old school London Porters and Stouts towards these ends. Bottled alive, to give them time to grow.

Bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours hazy bright golden - yellow with a thick, frothy white head. The aroma is green/weedy/herbal upfront, then zingy citrus, orange, tangerine, kumquat, ripe tropicals, papaya, mango, guava, orange blossom and some aniseed. The taste is rich and fruity, tropical juicy vibes, mango, papaya, zingy, zesty, pithy, grapefruit, orange peel, kumquat, splash of campari, pleasingly bitter, drying, touch green, weedy and a nip of booze through what is a drying and zesty finale. Medium body, average carbonation and fluffy mouth feel. Big on flavour. Punchy and satisfying. Enjoyed this.

Bottle at home picked up from hotm. A light hazed deep orange coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is semi sweet, vanilla, creamy, orange rind, orange creamsicle, flabby. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy orange, vanilla, cakey malts, some hot alcohol, some signs of oxidisation. Alcoholic bite in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, grainy hot alcohol, highish carbonation. Flabby. Seems a bit oxidised. Harsh alcohol. Would like to try it on tap.

A light haze on this gold beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, a little dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Very light bodied pale malts, bordering on thin. An adequate sweetness. Mellow cooling pine. Modest but juicy citrus hops, touch of hop spice. Eclipse brings some mildly peachy stone fruits that adds a much needed dimension. Light finish leaves a soft bitter linger. Tidy and drinkable.
