Well, hell. Totally wasn't expecting to dig this beer, but, what can I say? Shiner's actually made an interesting pint, a grassy, grainy pils accented by a barely-there lemon tartness and a pronounced hoppy bitterness on the back end. Creamy texture makes for easy drinking, and the light straw pour looks leagues better than the usually fizzy Shiner fare. Holy hell. I like a Shiner beer.

Brown sugar, pecan, chocolate malt, and straw aroma. Black with large brown head. Moderately sweet brown sugar, pecan, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter straw/dry grass flavor. Very light body.

Tap at Brooklyn Steel: pours sort of hazy orabge with a white head. Aroma is lightly tropical fruitiness. Taste is a pretty mediocre lightly fruity taste. Low bitterness. Just a muddle.

12oz bottle. Even at 7%, still drinks pretty easy. The cherry tone is artificial and sweet, kind of overboard on top of the sweet black malts. I suppose it captures a classic chocolate cherry flavor. Too sweet and artificial for me.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered orange body. Thin off-white head. Captures the mild,juicy, orange-juice/tropical tone sort of, but the body just isn't there. Lacks depth, and almost has an artificial fruit edge feel, like a mango IPA. Drinkable, but not a beer I'd seek out again.

On tap at Buffalo Wild Wings. Pours a cloudy orange with large frothy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is grapefruit pith and melon. Slick body, juicy, melon, pine, light bitterness, very good.

Sampled on draft at 3 Rivers this beer poured an orange-honey color with a medium sized foamy off white head that left very good lacing. The aroma was bitter and tangy with a cactus note. The flavor was bitter and earthy with cactus and was a bit rough. Long finish. Medium body.
