Tap at Osaka Beer Fes 2017. Huge lemon nose, lemon grass, wheat. Lemony, crisp and light, do not get coriander. Lemon is a bit overpowering but tastes nice enough. 6/4/7/4/13

Keg at Popeye - Tokyo. Pours hazy yellow with a creamy topping. Moderate yeast in the nose, doughy wheat, lemon zest. Medium sweet flavour with more wheat bread, dough. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, wheat flakes, biscuits. Not bad.

Tap at Waseda Oktoberfest. Pours light straw, bit of white foam. Aroma has some yeast, cloves and a sour banana. Drinks smooth, quit yeasty, light and full of flavours while not heavy. Well, while pretty watery. Sweet and some astringency in the finish. Dry and slightly bitter aftertaste. Ok, weizen but not too great.

Ot tap at Waseda Oktoberfest. Pours deep hazy orange, with bit of white foam. Quite strong yeast character, also has some sour notes. Tastes relatively sweet, some hops doing the work but maybe more on bittering side, not enough in the nose and also not enough to cover sweetness. Drinks nicely though, if you like sweeter and maltier pale ales that is.

Keyaki fall 2016. Light toasted caramel, nuts. Super thin-bodied, almost watery. Toasted chestnuts, but watery finish. Could be better, but in all fairness we drank it side by side with Chateau Kamiya’s excellent marzen. --- Beer merged from original tick of Marzen on 18 Sep 2016 at 14:31 - Score: 5
